Wacker Neuson has announced it will not attend this year's Intermat exhibition.

The Wacker Neuson Group has withdrawn from Intermat 2009 - this year's largest construction machinery trade fair taking place in Paris this spring.

The company said in a statement it will be increasingly focusing its sales and marketing activities on direct contact with customers.

Werner Schwind, board member responsible for sales and marketing at the Wacker Neuson Group, said, "The current market situation has led us to realign our marketing and sales activities. We will be investing available resources in measures that bring our customers in direct contact with the Group's products and employees at our production facilities and branch offices.

"We are confident that this strategy will give our customers compelling first-hand insights into our extensive light and compact equipment product portfolio as well as into the great performance delivered by the Wacker Neuson and Kramer Allrad brands."
