GAP opens Waltham Cross depot

07 May 2014

UK rental firm GAP has opened a new depot at Waltham Cross, north of the capital, London.

Built at a cost of £1 million (€1.2 million), with a further investment of £6 million (€7.3 million) on new rental equipment, the new depot brings the number of GAP locations in London and the south east to 13.

The 8092m2 site will offer equipment from GAP's plant and tools division, as well as its lifting, survey, non-mechanical plant, and welfare services divisions.

Jon Rae, operations director for the Midlands and South, said the company's presence in the south of England had strengthened significantly over the past few years.

"We have established the GAP brand across the area, and are now recognised as a major player in the south by national and local contractors alike. We are excited about having all five divisions working under one roof at Waltham Cross and pushing GAP forward as the market-leading hirer in the region.”

The Waltham Cross launch follows the opening of a previous depot in Bournemouth, with GAP finalising plans to open in more locations in the south east in 2014.
