Portland cement bulk prices increase

Free On Board (FOB) prices for ordinary Portland cement bulk have increased 6.4%, according to CW research, the US-based market researcher.

CW Research’s Mediterranean Basin Cement and Clinker price assessment product is a monthly report, which provides updates on actual pricing for cargoes.

The company said that FOB prices for bulk ordinary clinker remained on par with previously reported prices at US$ 30.8 per ton.

The May update also highlights a double digit decline in cement import prices in Algeria.

Raluca Cercel, consulting analyst with the CW Group’s European team, said, “Algeria will soon be oversupplied with cement, but clinker shipments from Greece, Turkey, Spain and Italy will continue in the short-term.”
