Hilti records strong 2016

14 March 2017

Liechtenstein-based manufacturer Hilti Group has revealed an increase to its revenues of 5.7% year-on-year for 2016.

The company’s sales reached CHF4.6 billion (€4.29 billion), which was mainly driven by North America and Europe, according to the company. It added that, as a result of the investment made in software and digital solutions over the past few years, online sales have surpassed CHF1 billion (€930 million) for the first time.

Hilti manufacturers products such as premium power tools and site positioning equipment.

The company sold its US-based solar power provider Unirac in April last year, and Hilti said the adjusted figures meant the company had reached a sales increase of 7.1% compared to 2015.

Hilti’s operating profit was CHF604 million (€563.58 million), which represents a rise of 10% year-on-year.

The company said it expected the market and currency environment to remain challenging in 2017. However, it added that it would strive to reach a higher revenues growth than in 2016.
