Poland’s newest tower crane manufacturer, Krupiński Cranes, has designed, built, tested and now delivered its first units.

Two units have got Polish TUV approval and been delivered to customers. Three more units will arrive later in April.

The emphasis is on quality at Krupiński Cranes, said Daniel Gwóźdź, chief executive officer. “We make high quality equipment, with the best possible quality components and drives we can get on the market.” Every crane is delivered with a two year guarantee as standard with an option on a third year, Gwóźdź continued. This compares favourably with the standard 12 month guarantee given by other manufacturers, he said.

The Krupiński KR 90-5 is a 5 tonner with a capacity of 1.4 tonnes at the end of its maximum 50 m jib. It is the smallest model in the new range.

Gearboxes and motors are from SEW Eurodrive, to efficiency class IE3, the drives are ABB, and Siemens supplies the PLC and display. All motions have frequency drives. The main hoist has an 18.5 kW motor, a drum capacity for enough rope to cover a 70 m hook height and 60 m/min maximum hoisting speed. The 5 tonne capacity is on a single fall of 12 mm diameter rope.

For transport and erection as one unit the main turntable and cabin weighs 4.2 tonnes and is 4 x 2.3 x 2.5 m. The operator cabin is designed for greater operator comfort than others in this class and has air conditioning as standard. The electrical components are all inside the cabin for weather protection and it is a more hospitable environment for maintenance and service crews.

Two more new models are nearly finished, the KR 160-5 and KR 160-8. The former is a low cost 5 tonne capacity model which lifts 2.2 tonnes at the end of its 60 m jib. The latter is an 8 tonner, lifts 2.05 tonnes at the end of its 60 m jib and has a high speed hoist.

Work started in March 2018 to design and manufacture tower cranes. Krupiński Sp. z o. o. was founded by Jacek Krupiński, Daniel Gwóźdź and Maciej Mongird. Jacek Krupiński has tower crane experience from working at Liebherr and, before that, Peiner.
