JCB enters American genset market

JCB has entered the North American power generation market with a range of dedicated Tier 4 Final (T4F) generator sets: the G79RS, G125RS, G220RS, G400RS and G625RS.

The five new trailer-mounted RS generators offer outputs from 56kW to 500kW.

Adam Holland, Managing Director of JCB Power Products, said, “America offers a huge opportunity for JCB Power Products.

“The US power generation sector is the second largest in the world, with sales of more than 140,000 generators a year, and the rental industry alone is worth more than $1 billion.”

Featuring simple SCR (selective catalytic reduction) aftertreatment with no DPF (diesel particulate filter) or DOC (diesel oxidation catalyst), the new gensets have a high-gauge galvanised steel housing with an eight-stage powder coat paint for enhanced durability.

The heavy-duty lift point on each model is rated to lift a fully fuelled generator and trailer.

JCB is extending its existing network of dedicated power generation dealers across North America, to distribute the Tier 4 Final generators and to provide the accompanying customer support. They will have access to spare parts via JCB’s global network of parts centres.

“JCB has undertaken a detailed benchmarking and customer evaluation exercise, to develop a generator range that meets the American customer requirements, across diverse industry sectors,” said Holland. “They are built for reliability, are easy to operate and safer by design, and require minimum maintenance.”

The gensets also meet US highway regulations for towing.

Many JCB generators come with the company’s LiveLink telematics system as standard. This allows customers to access machine updates and diagnostics so that they can remotely monitor and manage generators in the field.

JCB Power Products was established in 2006, following the launch of the manufacturer’s Dieselmax diesel engine. Many of the generators offered by JCB Power Products are powered by Dieselmax engines.
