Custom Equipment announces new CEO
31 January 2019
Construction industry veteran Terry Dolan has become president and CEO of Custom Equipment.
Dolan brings nearly 30 years of experience in the rental, construction and equipment industries and will lead the overall direction and strategy of the company.
“Terry’s background and industry expertise are the perfect fit for the company’s future,” said Steve Ellis, Custom Equipment chairman of the board. “He has a strong and proven background in construction equipment and channel development and has extensive knowledge of the rental industry both in North America and internationally.”
Dolan is known for building strong organizations with his customer-first approach, said Custom Equipment, and started his career in his home state of New Jersey, US, working for a large equipment dealer. From there, he spent 10 years in various marketing and distribution roles with Case. He further developed his leadership skills while holding several positions at Ingersoll Rand, including vice president of sales and marketing for all construction equipment businesses. This expanded his experience with used equipment manufacturing and company-owned dealers in the US, Europe and Southeast Asia.
After holding an executive position in the mining industry, Dolan became the executive vice president of commercial and industrial groups at Generac Power Systems. Dolan then became the president of Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers, US and Latin American markets.
“Custom Equipment has a strong reputation for developing and delivering a quality product,” Dolan said. “I’m looking forward to becoming an integral part of this team and executing a growth strategy to continue the company’s trajectory of success.”
