HERC supplies equipment to disaster areas

The Hertz Corp. is assisting victims of recent natural disasters throughout the US by supplying equipment to affected areas. Hertz Equipment Rental Corp. (HERC) has also donated $38,000 worth of safety and other materials to the Joplin, MO clean-up effort.

"With the recent natural disasters that have hit the Southeast, it's important for Hertz to provide assistance to our customers in need and the victims of these tragedies," said Mark P. Frissora, Hertz chairman and chief executive officer. "By making a monetary donation to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief, as well as providing equipment to our customers in cities like Joplin, MO and areas along the Mississippi River, Hertz is taking the necessary course of action, and with its ability to mobilize quickly Hertz is able to help residents and businesses in these affected areas."

HERC has provided customers in Joplin with light towers, crawler loaders, trucks, excavators and forklifts. The company is also supplying those affected by the Mississippi River flood with equipment for rent including pumps, trucks and generators.

HERC has been on a 24/7 operating schedule due to the increased need of its services in the Mississippi River area and has deployed additional fleet and equipment as well as staff to its locations in Baton Rouge, Broussard, and New Orleans, LA as well as Memphis, TN.
