JCB's backhoe loaders are already established machines in the waste, recycling and demolition industries and the company has now introduced its first machine designed for these sectors, the 4CX Wastemaster.

The new design features longer rear stabilisers and a front frame that incorporates hydraulic legs, allowing the entire machine to be raised horizontally off the ground for improved visibility into bins when material is being compacted. It also can be fitted with a wide range of special attachments, such as grabs for waste handling, a hook lift for manoeuvring bins and a sweeper collector for site cleaning duties.

All-round visibility from the cab enhances safety on site and the machine also features additional boom protection, light guards, belly guards and puncture proof tyres. The machine is fitted with robust loader arms and axles, which are the units used on the recently introduced larger sibling, the 5CX, with power coming from a 81 kW (109 hp) Stage 3B/Intermin Tier IV compliant JCB Dieselmax engine.
