Revised AEM breaker safety manual now available

17 September 2010

The US Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) has released a completely updated safety manual that covers the use of hydraulic breakers used on carriers of all types.

It is intended to reflect current industry practice in machine design and construction, as well as current best safety practices governing the use of this type of equipment.

The Carrier Mounted Hydraulic Breaker Safety Manual (Form CMHB-1004) replaces the Hydraulic Mounted Breaker Safety Manual (form MB-104).

The manual has expanded to 60 pages, with graphics used to reinforce the safety messages and the style used harmonises with the latest machine safety sign and manufacturer manual practices.

Additional or expanded topics include safe mounting and dismounting; utility location; attachment installation; use and maintenance of quick couplers; and use of newer safety design features.

Copies are available online from the AEM store at www.aem.org.
