Sandvik introduces two medium breakers
21 April 2010
As reported in the last issue of D&Ri, at Bauma Sandvik announced the introduction of two new medium class breakers in the shape of the 2,350 kg (5,170 lb) BR3288 and 3,380 kg (7,436 lb) BR4099.
Both new breakers are suitable for use on carriers weighing from 27 to 60 tonne.
According to the company, they both benefit from what Sandvik says are class leading features.
A new operating principle allows them to be tailored to suit specific individual applications and individual carriers through the ability to easily modify stroke length, blow energy and Idle Blow Protector.
An improved hydraulic efficiency provides high impact energy and blow frequency to provide a high power to weight ration, and a Vibration Dampened Tierods (VIDAT) system provides improved reliability and minimises downtime, with a state of the art sealing system, enhanced lubrication and longer service intervals helping to lower operating costs.
Sandvik also says that both have been designed for a long, trouble free, service life. A new more robust front head that is produced using new manufacturing techniques and features fewer holes to reduce stress.
