Scrap powered by electricity

TSR Recycling GmbH & Co KG operates from 150 locations in Europe, Russia and China, and relies on making use of sustainable solutions, including where its handling machines are concerned. As a result, it has recently taken delivery of a 55 tonne Sennebogen E-series 835 crawler special, which it is using primarily for charging the scrap metal shear and loading rail cars and trucks. However, thanks to the machine’s mobility it is also being used at other locations on the site as required, particularly at times of reduced production when it replaces the company’s other diesel-powered equipment to assist with reducing fuel costs.
Equipped with a 35 m (115 ft) trailing power cable, the machine is powered by a 160 kW (215 hp) electric motor and has a reach of more than 20 m (65 ft). When sorting materials and when charging the scrap metal shears the operator has an unobstructed view of his work area from the cab.
Sennebogen’s Maxcab, which can be elevated 2.7 m (8.9 ft) together with an additional 3 m (9.9 ft) of height through the use of a pipe-pylon, offers the operator a view height of 8.8 m (28.9 ft). An extensive lighting package and two surrounding cameras offer optimal visibility and the highest level of work safety. Additional walkways and railings on the upper carrier body ensure ideal accessibility and safe maintenance.
