Cat’s new D6 high drive dozer

Cat revealed its D6 dozer to the delegates of Bauma, with a choice of electric drive or fully-automatic power train.

Cat says the redesigned machine offers best-in-class grading with new levels of performance and up to 35% better fuel efficiency.

At 161 kW and an operating weight range of 21 749 – 24 097 kg, the new D6 replaces the D6T dozer.

The machine is available as the D6 XE, with an electric drive, or the D6, with a fully-automatic 4-speed power shift transmission.

Along with the redesign of the machine itself, the D6 has updated tech on board and an all-new cab, ensuring operator comfort and increasing productivity.

Cat says the high drive dozer also brings advantages in terms of simpler diagnostics and reduced servicing requirements, helping to reduce costs.

As well as its enhanced fuel efficiency, Cat says the D6 XE boasts increased agility, compared with the previous 3-speed model D6T, with constant power to the ground, continuous push and greater manoeuvrability resulting in faster cycle times.

Cat says customers investing in its new technology can expect to see a return from its efficiency and productivity advantages within two years of ownership.
