Pascal Strupler, product manager at Hexagon Geosystems, describes the company’s new HxDR product launch at InterGeo Digital 2020

Geodesy and geoinformation technology exhibition InterGeo launched as a digital event today (Tuesday, 13 October), for the first time in its history.

The three-day exhibition, rebranded as InterGeo Digital 2020 in the face of the coronavirus pandemic, will host over 200 brands and include presentations and conferences.

Throughout the event, InterGeo TV will provide a full live programme, including tips on how to get the most from the show, while viewing remotely.

Keynotes and lectures will, according to the exhibition’s organisers, focus on standardisation in digital planning and construction, plus developments in building information modelling (BIM).

In total, some 100 speakers will report on technological trends such as block chain, cloud computing and artificial intelligence, and there will be general discussion on the contribution geodesy and geoinformation are making to climate protection.

With areas of interest split into three categories – Learn, Discover and Connect – delegates will be invited to interact with the proceedings via InterGeo’s messaging service and also by downloading a virtual video conferencing tool, Alfaview, through which they can initiate ‘face-to-face’ dialogue with exhibitors and other participants.

Live stages include the InterGeo Geoinnovation, Smart City Solutions and Flight Zone stages, while tech giant Hexagon has its own stage at this year’s event, on which it is showcasing its portfolio of new technology, as well as debating today’s technology challenges and solutions.

Other major players at the show include Leica Geosystems, Bentley Systems, Trimble, Topcon, Autodesk and Riegl.
