Felbermayr gets largest lattice mobile
25 April 2008
Lifting and transport specialist Felbermayr, headquartered in Austria, has taken delivery of a new 750 tonne capacity Liebherr LG 1750 lattice boom truck crane. The manufacturer claims it is the largest mobile crane ever supplied to an Austrian company.
Felbermayr, which has a fleet of 200 mobile cranes, wanted strong lifting capacity, high hook height and large working radii. Short setup times and economic transport logistics were other requirements.
The new crane was bought for erecting large wind turbines and for industrial and refinery applications. Its new SL8HS boom system was designed for the wind power industry and means the LG 1750 can lift 100 tonnes to a height of more than 115 m without needing a derrick system. Also ordered was a 49 m luffing jib, the derrick system and a heavy 70 m main boom. The LG 1750's boom and jib system is compatible with the LR 1750 crawler, which Felbermayr also owns.
The Felbermayr Group of Companies which includes divisions for specialized transport, civil engineering and waste disposal has 32 offices in 10 European countries and a workforce of about 1,150.
