This Liebherr LR 11200 crawler crane, built entirely of Lego, was made in Japan by a model maker known only as Sakiki.

The crane, which has a maximum height of 2.4 m and weighs 11 kg, is fitted with Lego electric motors for the crawler and winch drives, which enable movement and provide a lifting capacity of 3 kg.

Not only has Sakiki built the crane, he has also assembled it the way it would be on site with the aid of model mobile cranes and a team of Lego riggers (after it was delivered on a fleet of Lego trucks and trailers).

In the thorough recreation of the crane assembly, details such as a lightning rod and warning lights were added. The final touch is the use of a six-pack as counterweight. With these on board the crane was ready to carry out its first job: dismantling a Christmas tree.
