Pocket Guide on Construction Safety, published by OSHA

25 April 2008

Employers and workers in the construction industry are the targets for the new OSHA-published Pocket Guide on Construction Safety. The quick-reference book helps identify potential hazards and possible solutions for the most frequently cited standards in construction.

It also offers safety checklists on personal protection equipment, scaffolding, electricity, floor and wall openings, elevated surfaces, hazard communication, cranes, and forklifts to help avoid hazards that cause injuries, illnesses and fatalities.

This guide, along with the Pocket Guide on Concrete Manufacturing, is part of a series on worker safety being developed by OSHA. The publications can be downloaded free, in PDF format, from the OSHA web site www.osha.gov or they can be ordered by telephone from the OSHA publications office at +1 (202) 693 1888.
