Awards shortlists – Urban Demolition US$10m or over

Today we are announcing the shortlists for the World Demolition Awards.

In the Urban Demolition US$10 million or over category, our congratulations go to:

  • Erith Contractors (United Kingdom) – for One Sherwood Street in London, otherwise known as Piccadilly Lights, where it began a full enabling package during the Covid-19 pandemic
  • Kiewit Infrastructure West Co (USA) – for the demolition of the 65-year old Alaskan Way Viaduct in Seattle after historical damage caused by an earthquake
  • Mainland Civil Queensland (Australia) – for the demolition of the 12-storey Department of Primary Industries building in Brisbane where the scope of works increased during the project.
  • Veit & Company (USA) – the company was subcontractor for demolition and abatement of a 13-storey dormitory building at Marquette University, Wisconsin.

The World Demolition Awards take place on Thursday 12 November and are organised by Demolition & Recycling International in co-operation with the European Demolition Association and the National Demolition Association of the USA.
