Belgium-based geotechnical offshore contractor GeoSea NV has agreed with Barge Master in the Netherlands to test and deploy the S700/C400 Barge Master platform for motion compensation.

The S700/C400 Barge Master is a motion compensation platform that compensates up to 95% of sea-induced motion. The platform can be installed on a supply vessel or barge and has a payload capacity of 700 tonnes. Vessels with a Barge Master platform can perform more safely, quicker and under more adverse sea conditions.

The first Barge Master platform was installed on a flat top barge in August. In September it is being fully tested in the North Sea. Following that, GeoSea will use the platform for various applications, including offshore wind farm construction projects.

Barge Master is one of Frans van Seumeren's companies. He also has crane and transport company Roll-Lift and heavy lift shipping company Roll-Dock.
