Westgate Plant adds first Bobcats to fleet
22 August 2013
UK rental firm Westgate Plant (Hire and Sales) has taken delivery of its first two new Bobcat compact excavators from dealer Bobcat of London.
The firm has purchased a Bobcat E10 1.1 t micro-excavator, a Bobcat E16 1.6 t compact excavator and a Model 10 auger attachment for use on the E16, following increased demand in its local market.
Westgate Plant has been in business for 25 years and has been renting excavators since 1990. Following the recession, the company is beginning to see an increase in demand and has purchased the Bobcat excavators to meet this requirement.
Company owner, Peter Welsh, said: “We have been running compact excavators for well over 20 years and have been looking to expand the fleet as the market begins to pick up. We are one of the few independent plant hirers left in the area and have dedicated ourselves to maintaining and enhancing the level of service that our customers have come to expect from a family run business.”
The Bobcat E10 model is a zero tail swing micro-excavator with a maximum digging depth of 1.82 m and a machine weight of 1066 kg. The machine has a retractable undercarriage that takes the width down to only 710 mm, allowing it to pass through a standard pedestrian doorway for work inside buildings.
With a retractable undercarriage as standard, the E16 with canopy, bucket and long dipperstick has an operating weight of 1555 kg and offers a maximum digging depth of 2602 mm.
