The organisers of the Bauma and ConExpo construction equipment exhibitions have announced a cooperation agreement for international trade fairs. The two organisations plan to hold a new construction equipment show in Mumbai, India, in February 2011.

Messe München GmbH (MMG), the organiser of Bauma in Munich, Germany and Bauma China in Shanghai, China, and the US-based Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM), which runs ConExpo in Las Vegas, US, have chosen the title "bC India - A bauma CONEXPO show" for its inaugural event.

Eugen Egetenmeir, deputy managing director of Messe München said, "Industry has given a positive response to the idea of an international trade fair for the construction industry in the growth market of India. Through the cooperation between Messe München and AEM, the new event is set to quickly establish itself as an international platform."

AEM president Dennis Slater, "Both Messe München and AEM are leaders in establishing and producing world-class exhibitions. Our cooperation will bring a combined international expertise to the Indian marketplace, for the benefit of bC India participants and the involved industry."

Bauma, held every three years in Munich, Germany is the largest construction equipment trade show in the world. It was last held in April 2007 and attracted 500000 visitors. Its sister show, Bauma China is held every two years in Shanghai, China. The November 2008 event attracted 113000 visitors, making it the largest construction equipment show in Asia.

The AEM's ConExpo-Con/Agg show is held every three years in Las Vegas, US. The next show is scheduled for March 2011, and the AEM is expecting 140000 visitors, making it the largest event of its kind in North America.

Further details about bC India will be announced later this year.
