Consolidated third quarter sales in the construction division at French-based contractor Eiffage decreased by 4.0% to €2.08 billion in France, but increased by 54.8% to €703 million in Europe outside France – particularly in the Benelux countries.

The group reported that the contribution to the activity of Priora, the recently-acquired Swiss-based construction company was €153 million.

In the infrastructure segment, sales of €3.97 billion were said to be up 17.2% on a reported basis and by 13.1% on a like-for-like basis.

In France, sales increased by 12.0% to €2.50 billion, with very strong increases reported for civil engineering, thanks to work on the Grand Paris Express project, as well as road construction, which was up 7.7%.

In Europe outside France, sales increased by 9.8% to €1.11 billion, particularly in Germany and Spain.

Outside Europe, sales reached €361 million, which compared to €145 million at the end of September 2017. This was, in part, thanks to the maritime works activities acquired from Saipem at the end of 2017, which contributed €101 million.
