Hitachi Construction Machinery Group said it will gradually adjust production at its four Japanese plants in April and May in light of the decline in demand worldwide due to the spread of COVID-19.

The adjustments cover the production, assembly, and painting of products including medium- and large-sized excavators, medium wheeled loaders and hydraulic components (such as drive motors and reduction gears). The company previously announced plans for its production plants outside of Japan.
