ERA launches coronavirus info page

01 April 2020

The European Rental Association (ERA) has launched a page on its website with links to information provided by rental associations, news updates relevant to the sector, important policy information and other associated information.

The page, which will be regularly updated, can be accessed here.

Since the World Health Organisation (WHO) declared the coronavirus outbreak a global pandemic on 11 March, many European countries have enforced measures that restrict the movement of people and curtail economic activity.

With the closure of construction sites and cancellation of events, the ERA said this has serious consequences for the equipment rental industry, including the health and safety of rental companies’ staff, the suspension or cancellation of rental contracts, the management and maintenance of machinery, and the ability to retain staff and pay salaries.

On the new information page, for example, a link through to the latest updates from the French rental association includes a DLR guide on best hygiene practices for rental companies to follow as they continue to operate to support essential services.

Meanwhile, the German rental association Bbi offers advice on what rights rental companies and their customers have regarding equipment on rent during this crisis.

The ERA asks anyone with relevant information updates to contact them at era@rarental.org.
