The X Series excavator has a 15.6m boom and is capable of powering a range of specialist attachments.

JCB said it spent four years testing the model and its components in order to achieve a higher build quality and an improved level of reliability for customers. The manufacturer said it had been designed to provide operators with maximum comfort, durability and reliability.

James Baron, JWBE’s owner, said, “I am really impressed with the new X Series: the build quality, the high quality components and the cab, which is one of the best in the business. There has certainly been a lot of thought and customer consultation gone into the design and manufacturing process. This machine has been an eye-opener.”

According to JCB, the 20-tonne tracked excavator is tailor made for the services offered by the company. JWBE said the machine would be used on a range of projects including waterway repairs, dredging and coastal protection, as part of its rental and contractor business operations.

Peter Vooght, a JWBE operator, added, “I have to say, it’s very impressive; smooth and refined on the levers and the cab comfort levels are fantastic. They have done a good job with this machine. This is the first JCB on the fleet and I feel quite proud to be supporting a great British manufacturer and its products.”
