Manitou debuts MT 5519 telehandler

Shown for the first time at World of Concrete 2012, the MT 5519 was debuted from French manufacturer Manitou. The unit joins the compact MT series product range, offering an overall height of 6 feet, 4 inches (1.93m) with a turning radius of 11 feet (3.35m). The unit's boom provides a reach height of 19 feet, 1 inch (5.8m) and has the same welded box-section design as its bigger siblings in the MT series.

The MT 5519 features a 5,500 pound (2,495 kg) lift capacity, internal wet disc service brakes which come standard and a spring-applied hydraulic release-parking brake.

"It can maneuver in low buildings and confined job sites like no other machine on the market," Manitou said in a statement. "The MT 5519 allows for operation in buildings, under parking garages and in confined areas easy."

The unit offers operators a full 360-degree view from an optional enclosed cab with front and top windows, a door and a heater/defroster. Air conditioning can also be added.

Two direct mechanical joystick controls for boom and fork tilt functions come standard on the machine and a deluxe suspension seat is optional. A work light package can also be added.

The model MT 5519 is powered by a 68 hp (50.7 kW) water-cooled Yanmar four cylinder diesel engine. A two-speed hydrostatic transmission with inching valve and three selectable steering modes and a powerful hydraulic system are all standard on the MT 5519.

Hydraulic flow is 22 gpm (83 L/min) and optional auxiliary hydraulics are available to power a variety of available attachments. Attachments include truss booms, jib booms, buckets and multiple types of carriages and forks The hoses are routed inside the boom protecting them from jobsite hazards.
