Manitou M series now Tier III compliant

Manitou's rough terrain masted forklift M series are now in Tier III production. The 6,000-, 8,000- and 10,000-pound capacity machines include many of the same features as the previous series, including: two- or four-wheel drive; semi or fully enclosed cabs; and torque convertor or hydrostatic transmission. Perkins or Caterpillar 94 hp turbocharged engines provide the necessary power to get the job done.

The M series, which reaches 22 feet high, also features frame leveling options a tilting cab that allows the operator easy access for maintenance. New on the unitincludes dust proof/waterproof wiring harnesses, water-resistant guages, a wider step and work and road lights. "The overhead visibility has been increased by both lengthening the existing and adding more cutouts to the top of the overhead guard while still retaining FOPS certification," the company says.

Manitou is also touting the machine's new SAHR park brake system, which eliminates all brake maintance, they say.
