Chinese aerial work platform and truck crane chassis manufacturer Beijing JingCheng Heavy Industry is developing a range of small truck mounted cranes mainly for the domestic market.

Beijing JingCheng already has a joint venture with Tadano under which it manufactures truck crane chassis that Tadano uses for its truck cranes sold in China, but JingCheng said it wanted to develop a lower-cost range of cranes for the domestic market.

The cranes use truck carriers produced by Chinese manufacturer DongFeng, based in Shiyan. The model pictured at JingCheng's main manufacturing facility in Beijing has an 8 tonne capacity, but a 12 tonne model will also be produced, plus 35 and 55 tonne models later this year.

A spokesperson for JingCheng said that Tadano was aware of the project and had no objections.

Beijing JingCheng makes a wide range of aerial platforms and also wheeled harbour cranes. In addition, it has joint ventures with Tadano for truck crane chassis, with Hyundai for hydraulic excavators, and also makes 20-52 tonne capacity dump trucks for a Singapore partner.
