Atlas Copco will use bauma in April to introduce a new shear jaw set, designated the Mobile Shear (MS) jaw, for its CC 3300 Combi Cutter that, according to the company, will make the tool suitable for use in primary cutting of steel structures, cutting and sizing profiles, beams, frames and rebar in the demolition and recycling industries as well as in scrap yards.

According to Wolfgang Hohn, product manager silent demolition tools at the company: “Our aim is to be a leading manufacturer and solution provider for the demolition market. To round off our offerings in the silent demolition tools segment, we are introducing a mobile shear jaw for our CC 3300 Combi Cutter.”

A central pin supports the cutter jaws in a stable manner and also reduces the time required to change the jaws by up to 75% when compared to separately supported jaws. Both jaws can be fitted and removed as a single unit through the use of the Coupling and Position System (CPS) that holds both jaws together even after they have been removed.

The company will also be using the show to launch its lightest fully vibro-reduced hand-held hydraulic pick hammer in the shape of 9.5 kg |(20.9 lb) LH 8E, which it says is ideal for horizontal work in brick and concrete. The newly designed vibro-reduced housing, where the hammer mechanism floats in the canopy, dampens vibrations throughout the whole hammer body, significantly decreasing the vibrations transmitted to an operator’s hands and arms.
