Sandvik has introduced the QA331, a new mobile three way split screener, based on the company's existing QA330 machine, that is intended to provide improved capacity, is equally robust, and has been designed with the recycling and contractor markets firmly in mind.

The key to the new machine is its 4.3 x.1.5 m (14 x 5 ft) two bearing screen box that has been provided with an increased 6 degree screening angle built into the bottom deck. This, coupled with the larger screening area and increased throw on the screen box, enhances screening efficiency and capacity through the box, said the company.

Officially launched at Hillhead 2010 in June and getting its North American launch at ConExpo, the new unit has what Sandvik says is a unique folding access walkway fitted as standard around the screen box to provide easy maintenance access. In addition, the hopper has a 7 cubic metre(248 cubic foot) capacity and also has as standard a radio controlled tipping reject grid. The main conveyor is 1.05 m (3.5 ft) in width and the machine has tracks that are 0.5 m (1.6 ft) wide to allow efficient travel over all ground conditions.

D&Ri also understands that there will be two new mobile crushers on show in Las Vegas on the Sandvik stand - a new impact crusher and a new cone crusher, but details were unavailable at the time of going to press.
