Singapore’s Uni-Corp and US concreting equipment specialist Allen Engineering Corp have reached a sales agreement under which Uni-Corp will sell three of Allen’s ride-on concrete trowels outside North America.

Uni-Corp,which has manufacturing facilities in China and makes light compaction, concreting and cutting and grinding equipment, will sell the Allen trowels under its Hoppt brand in Asia and through Paclite Equipment in Europe and the Middle East.

The three models are the HRT 215 M, HRT 415 and HRT 460.

At the same time, Uni-Corp is now manufacturing the smallest of these models, the HRT 215 M, in China for Allen.

The link-up between the two companies follows the sales alliance created last year between Allen Engineering and Equipment Synergy International (ESI). ESI, the US light equipment distributor created by former Multiquip chief executive Roger Euliss, previously had a relationship with Uni-Corp and was selling its products in North America. Under the alliance between Allen and ESI Mr Euliss was appointed sales director of Allen.

For Paclite in Europe the concrete trowels expands its product offering into concreting equipment. Kent Gorsun, managing director of Paclite, told IRN that the addition of the trowels was part of a wider diversification of the product line, including a move into lighting towers and heavier compaction models. A 3 t roller may be ready for launch at the Bauma show in April.

The new lighting towers, manufactured by Uni-Corp in China and using Kubota engines, are likely to be available soon and will comprise two models, one with a hydraulic mast and one manual.

Paclite is also expanding its range of light compaction equipment, adding a 450 kg reversible plate compactor, the 430DE, and a new 68 kg rammer with a narrow frame called the XRX68.
