Construction of Central Chinese Television's (CCTV) new headquarters and Television Cultural Centre (below) in Beijing, China is on schedule with above-ground construction now reaching 50 to 60 m. The 240 m high, Office of Metropolitain Architecture (OMA) designed CCTV, one of 300 towers under construction in Beijing's new 10 ha Central Business District (CBD), is scheduled for completion in time for the Beijing Olympics in 2008. It will combine offices, newsrooms, broadcasting and post-production studios.
