04 April 2012

A total of 15 crane manufacturers made it into sister magazine International Construction’s 2012 Yellow Table - a ranking of the world’s 50 largest construction equipment manufacturers. The highest placed was Hitachi in 4th place, while Liebherr, Sany, Zoomlion and Terex were also in the top ten.

The full placings for crane manufacturers in the Yellow Table were; Hitachi (4th), Liebherr (5th), Sany (6th), Zoomlion (7th), Terex (8th), XCMG (11th), Kobelco (13th), Liugong (17th), Manitowoc (20th), Sumitomo (24th), Tadano (29th), Palfinger (30th), Kato (38th), Telcon (40th) and Furukawa (41st).

Seven of the companies gained places in the rankings compared to last year, while six fell and two stayed the same. Within the top ten, Sany, Zoomlion and Terex all improved their positions, while Liebherr was unmoved from last year.

The Yellow Table is based on revenues from construction equipment sales in 2011. The ranking was topped by Caterpillar, followed by Komatsu and Volvo Construction equipment.
