Hertz Equipment Rental Corp/ (HERC) has acquired WGI Rentals, headquartered in Williston, ND.

"We're excited to be expanding our Equipment Rental business into the North Dakota marketplace," said Mark P. Frissora, Hertz president. "With its experience in providing equipment to the emerging Petro-Chemical market in North Dakota, WGI enables Hertz to bring its industrial service expertise into a new region while enabling Hertz to tap into the growth of North Dakota's Oil and Gas industry."

According to HERC, by acquiring WGI Rentals the company continues its strategy of expanding into the oil and gas marketplace in North America. The Bakken Shale Oil formation in North Dakota is a key market supporting the demands for US energy. "This acquisition allows Hertz to further penetrate the exploratory drilling activity in and around the Bakken Shale which is a significant market for conventional and unconventional drilling activities," the company said.

Founded and headquartered in Williston, ND, WGI Rentals has been servicing the local community and Bakken Shale service contractors since 2007.
