Leica unveils new laser scanner
01 September 2009
Leica has introduced the ScanStation C10, the company's newest 3D laser scanner for as-built and topographic surveying.
The ‘all-in-one‘ ScanStation C10 has all critical components packed into a single unit providing a familiar total station-like interface including an onboard controller and a colour graphic display for convenient on-site control, Leica stated.
The fully integrated cableless system can perform full dome scans up to 10 times faster than its predecessor, the company added.
The scanner is compatible with Leica Geosystems standard surveying instruments and accessories such as TPS batteries, total station prisms as well as the Leica GPS SmartAntenna.
"Even surveyors new to high-definition surveying (HDS) will find it easy to learn and work with the Leica ScanStation C10," a spokesman for Leica said.
Juergen Dold, president of Leica Geosystems' Geospatial Solutions Division said, "From a value, versatility and productivity standpoint, the all-in-one Leica ScanStation C10 is ideal for organisations wanting to get into scanning or organisations wanting to add a more versatile and productive scanner to their existing fleet."
Leica Cyclone v7.0 is being introduced simultaneously as companion software for operating the company's ScanStation C10 and all other Leica Geosystems HDS scanners.
