The first day of last month’s ConExpo exhibition in Las Vegas, US saw the Manitowoc Crane Group stand play host to stars from the US reality TV show American Chopper.

Stars Paul Teutul Snr, Paul Teutul Jnr and Mike Teutul were on hand to unveil a custom-built ‘chopper’ motorbike commissioned by Manitowoc.

As fans of the show will know, the bike drew heavily on Manitowoc cranes for its design.

The bike’s handlebars borrowed from the telescoping nature of the Grove mobile cranes’ Megaform boom design, while the wheels incorporated wire rope. And trusses reflecting Manitowoc’s crawler crane lattice booms were of course a feature.
