New venture for John Ball

18 March 2014

John Ball, the former managing director of Ireland-based Easi UpLifts/Height for Hire, has started a new rental management and consultancy company.

Specialising in the access sector, but offering services across the rental industry, Velocity Rental Solutions seeks to develop rental companies in any part of the world.

Services include, equipment procurement, interim management, insurance damage and dispute resolution and equipment valuation as well as credit, fleet, sales and safety management.

Company founder John Ball has been actively involved in the rental industry for almost 30 years. Over the last 20 years he led the development of rental group Easi UpLifts/Height for Hire from a small domestic company, into a large international player, with 15 locations across Europe.

In late 2013 he sold his shares in the Easi UpLifts group, resigning as its managing director, and founded Velocity Rental Solutions Ltd.

For the past 10 years he has also been a non-executive director of the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) as well as a member of its international council. He served as its President from 2008 to 2010. He will resign from the IPAF board at its annual general meeting at the beginning of April this year.

Mr Ball told AI that he was looking forward to the new venture. “I am going to keep a very open mind, but I am particularly interested in developing and emerging markets.”
