Passenger Lift to unveil Access Lite
10 September 2013
Vehicle lift specialist Passenger Lift Services Limited (PLS) is preparing to launch its new Access Lite underfloor cassette lift in October.
The manufacturer will unveil the new lift at the Coach & Bus Live exhibition, taking place at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC), Birmingham, 2-3 October 2013.
Mike Simmonds, PLS CEO commented: “Access Lite represents a pioneering design in accessible vehicle passenger lifts and will deliver significant advantages to fleet operators and convertors both in terms of saving time and cost.
“Its lighter weight, enhanced robustness and advanced compatibility results in a solution that can be fitted more efficiently to a wider variety of vehicles, whilst reducing the need for chassis modifications.”
Access Lite has been manufactured to be lighter than similar lifts in its class. The underfloor cassette lift has also been created using special automotive rivets instead of bolts to minimize vibration and speed up build time.
The unit’s lighter frame means that Access Lite can operate with 20% less hydraulic pressure than other models, so battery power is saved when loading passengers. This higher level of operational efficiency means more lifts can be performed from one battery life.
Access Lite has a SWL of 400kg and its platform can be engineered in a variety of sizes ranging from 725–925mm in width and 1410–1780mm in length. The platform can be lifted to a height of 1.5 m above ground level.
