Safway buys Atlantic Hoisting and Scaffolding

US scaffolding and access specialist, Safway Services has bought Atlantic Hoisting & Scaffolding, LLC, a large provider of scaffolding and hoisting solutions in the New York City area. By the acquisition Safway hopes to strengthen its expertise in metropolitan high-rise scaffolding and access solutions.

Marc Wilson, president and chief executive officer of of Safway Services, said, "With this acquisition, Safway adds expertise in hoisting solutions for complex metropolitan projects to its leading capabilities in engineering, safety and project management of scaffolding and access solutions services. Atlantic also helps provide the capability to bring customers a turnkey solution for high-rise access projects across North America, through Safway's extensive branch network."

Atlantic has been working in commercial construction in New York City for more than 50 years, more recent projects include work on September 11 Memorial Museum, Freedom Tower, The Jacob K. Javits Convention Center Renovation, The United Nations Building and The JP Morgan Chase Headquarters. The company is located in Carlstadt, NJ and provides services to customers through all phases of construction, with in-house engineers and designers working alongside on-site fabricators and carpenters.
