Magni will launch a rotating telehandler with the world’s greatest working height at the Intermat exhibition in Paris, France, next year.

The RTH 5.35 is to offer a 35 m working height and a 2.2 tonne load capacity. Another feature is the short chassis, just 15 cm longer than on the existing RTH 5.30.

The transmission comprises a 170 kW Euro 4 final Mercedes Engine, a 125 cc Bosh Rexroth hydrostatic pump and a 150 cc Bosh hydrostatic motor.

The cab has been moved forward on the left front wheel to provide better visibility and to grant the maximum safety when the machine is travelling on the road.

The boom consists of six sections with two extension cylinders, both placed outside the boom, allowing the inside to be for hoses and pipes. Therefore, they have more space to move during extension and retraction of the boom.

Another feature of the boom is its management software: the first four sections are activated by the cylinder placed on the upper side of the boom and move proportionally with the chain extension system.

The fifth element, which is the bigger and the heavier, is managed by another cylinder placed on the lower side of the boom, which works proportionally to the boom angle - the bigger the angle increase, the more the element extends.

“The extension system has been developed to keep a good load capacity on the wide horizontal reach," says a company spokesman. "Otherwise the weight of the fifth element would reduce the load capacity of the machine too much; instead, the weight remains close to the load centre of the machine."

The manufacturer added that with a specialist platform, the model can reach 48 m working height. And is if used with the company’s remote control, it can be directly controlled from the platform.
