Terex
15 April 2008
On show from Terex were the recently launched LT 1130 and the well established LT 1055 telescopic truck cranes from Changjiang, the joint venture between Terex Corporation and China's Sichuan Changjiang Engineering Crane Company. The company is the third largest crane producer in China, producing around 1,400 truck cranes a year from 8 to 160 tonnes lifting capacity.
The six axle 130 tonne capacity LT 1130 has a 48 m main boom and Cummins engine. To increase manoeuvrability four of the axles can be steered, giving a turning radius of 14.5 m, and 12 x 6 drive is an option. European components used include ZF transmissions and Bosch Rexroth hydraulics. The four axle LT 1055, with 41 m boom and 65 tonne maximum capacity, has a Cummins engine and a turning radius of less than 12 m, Terex says.
Largest of the Terex machines on show was a 250 tonne capacity AC 250-1 telescopic wheeled AT mobile crane with 80 m main boom.
Making its debut in the Chinese market was the Australian-built Terex Franna articulated AT20 pick and carry crane. It has new technical features for better safety, ergonomics, ease of operation and increased efficiency. Sales success in Australia and South America led Terex to pioneer this type of crane in the Chinese market. The AT20 has a remodelled cabin with more spacious interior and the boom design has been “optimised for improved capacity ratings through all working ranges.”
