XCMG Brazilian plant ready to open

Chinese construction equipment manufacturer XCMG has said its new factory in Pouso Alegre, in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais will start operations on June 6 this year.
The ground-breaking ceremony for the 800,000 m2 plant was held in December 2012. XCMG says it has invested US$ 200 million in the facility, which will have the capacity to produce 7,000 construction machines per year. Equipment produced at the factory will include cranes, excavators, loaders, rollers and graders, among others.
The company says it has recruited more than 50 employees locally as part of the factory’s initial workforce.
