UK rental company AFI-Uplift has bought 18 new JLG boom lifts to extend its machine range at the high end of the boom market.

The new booms are the largest in the AFI fleet and comprise six 800 AJs, six 860 SJs, three 1350 SJPs, and three 1250 AJPs. Their respective platform heights are 24.38 m (80 ft), 26.21 m (86 ft), 41.15 m (135 ft), and 38.1 m (125 ft).

The Ultra boom range features oscillating axles, drive-out extendable axles, two-wheel drive, four-wheel drive and crab steer options, and high jib flexibility for work and stowage. The 1350 SJP has a work envelope of 2.1 million cubic feet, the largest available for any powered access machine.

AFI's latest investment follows its recent purchase of three Hollandlift Megastars and six Combistar scissor lifts, and earlier in the year the company also strengthened the range it offers in the Push Around Vertical sector by purchasing 15 Eazzi-lift Mini and 10 Eazzi-lift Midi machines.

The new machines will join the AFI fleet of over 4300 machines located in a national network of 18 depots.
