Amec completes construction exit

Amec has agreed to sell its final construction business to its former subsidiary Spie. It will buy Amec's UK£ 333 million (US$ 666 million) per year Building and Facilities Services (BFS) business for UK£ 117 million (US$ 234 million) in cash. the deal marks Amec exit from traditional construction work, to focus on engineering work in the oil & gas and nuclear industries. the sale of these divisions has raised UK£ 320 million (US$ 640 million).
