Australian manufacturer of light construction tools, Makinex, has launched its products in North America and used the recent Rental Show in Orlando to target new customers and to find distributors.

The company has appointed Jim Spencer as its North American sales representative, based in Orlando, Florida.

Sydney-based Makinex, founded as Work Smart Equipment in 2004, produces floor strippers, floor saws, pressure washers and jackhammer trolleys and also sells other brands in its domestic market, such as Cormidi. The company said it was targeting the rental and flooring markets in North America.

“It is an exciting time to launch in North America.” said Makinex director Rory Kennard. “Revenue growth for the equipment rental industry continues to be on the rise and we want to be a part of that.”

Mr Kennard added; “Our products are unique and differentiated, allowing customers to do their jobs faster, safer and easier. They are an asset to any rental fleet, promising a high utilisation rate and maximum ROI. Any operator is at a significant advantage when using our products, and we are confident about that.”

The product line includes a 140 kg capacity powered hand truck, a combined rotary cleaner and wand pressure washer, a jackhammer trolley for removal of floor tiles, and a mixing station designed for fast mix and pour of cements, compounds and epoxies.
