Equipment in remote or hostile conditions can now be monitored and recharged remotely using the VE100RM fuel cell system from the Voller Energy Group. The system, which is accessed via Voller software over a GPS phone link, uses hydrogen to produce electricity and automatically recharges the batteries when they drop below a preset voltage. The compressed hydrogen gas can be contained in a standard cylinder or the Voller refillable canister, which stores hydrogen at low pressure dissolved in a metal hybride salt and is mounted on the unit.
