Rothlehner Arbeitsbühnen, the German dealer for Bluelift, has delivered two Blue Lithium SA22(R220C) tracked platforms to Kölner Verkehrsbetriebe, working at the new north-south metro tunnel in the German city of Cologne.

The lifts are being used to carry out cleaning and maintenance work on the Heumarkt interchange station and other locations in the subway.

The station lies 27 m below ground, making it the city’s deepest station. One of the SA22 units was lowered into the subway by crane. There were strict demands when it came to reach and ground pressure.

The SA22 offers up to10.5 m of outreach with an up and over height of up to 8.5 m, while platform capacity is 230 kg with a fiberglass basket. It is also insulated to1000V. The model can also be stabilised in area of 4 m, 3 m or 2 m without losing maximum outreach.
