Marlene, the grandchild of a long time BMS employee, has given her name to a 6 tonne capacity Unic crane.

BMS in Denmark has taken delivery of 20 Unic mini-cranes, all of which will be given girls' names.

Ever since the rental company was established in 1953, all its cranes have been given girls' names, starting with the letters B, M or S, depending on the type of machine.

Hydraulic cranes fall into the B-category, with names including Beth and Beatrice. Lattice boom truck cranes are known as Mama and Maya, for example, and crawler cranes are labelled Sally, Sindy, etc. Where possible, a crane is named after the wife of the operator.

With this latest acquisition from Unic, BMS is continuing the tradition. But to reflect the smaller size of the cranes the machines will be named after the operators' daughters or granddaughters.
