Brand acquires Interstate

24 April 2008

Brand, which also owns Aluma Systems, will completely merge 30-year-old Interstate, which had eight locations across the country. Brand said the move illustrated “the company’s key business objectives and growth initiatives.”

Brand, headquartered in Georgia, said Interstate’s New Jersey and Chicago facilities will operate under the Brand name. Bob Veltre will continue to lead the New Jersey activities and Bill Kuhn will stay as head of the Chicago location. Brand will, however, combine Interstate’s Los Angeles and Bay Area operations with its Long Beach and Vallejo, CA facilities.

“Interstate’s strong operating team, as well as its established relationships with major industrial and commercial customers, enhances Brand’s existing capabilities in the US,” said Brand’s president and chief executive officer, Paul Wood. “It expands our reach across the continent with a wealth of knowledge in the industrial market.”

Brand has over 90 facilities around the world and had 2005 sales of US$491 (€392) million.
