Better use of space, ease of assembly and increased functionality are the aim of a new range of modular controls and indicator lights.

The R-Series from Schmersal, in the UK, is designed for the 22.3 mm industrial standard and they come with contact elements and holders, mounting flanges and display elements. This allows designers to create illuminated and non-illuminated pushbuttons, as well as momentary, twist, selector and key-operated switches.

Each device is assembled by connecting the actuating head to the mounting flange under the front plate. The retired contact and illuminating elements are then snapped onto the contact holder and both modules are connected by means of the integrated contact securing elements.

The use of high quality glass, metals and plastics mean the devices can withstand even the most severe levels of stress, shock and vibration, added Schmersal.
